our quest for a beer with a view

So, we went down to Brunswick Heads as we had heard that it is a beautiful spot and the pub is on the river so we thought ‘great! another beer/lemonade with a view’.  After our first little trip to Eagle Heights for a beer with a view we have been committed to finding places to have a beer with a view.  We were bitterly disappointed with the view from the Brunswick Heads Hotel.  It is across the road from the river so you can’t see it at all from the beer garden, it is also a smoking area except for a small non-smoking section, so totally not enjoyable to sit at unless you smoke.  It is a lovely hotel and has an awesome variety of beers, ciders and wines all on tap (however I couldn’t indulge in those) my husband loved it!  However, we did not really love Brunswick Heads, its a pretty location but the vibe of the town was weird (maybe thats just us) and the public spaces are poorly maintained and had some very dodgy characters in them.

After eating a yummy vegie burger and chips at the pub, we decided to move on and explore somewhere else.  We decided to go and drive through Mullumbimby and follow the Old Pacific Highway around to Lennox Head.  The views on the drive were amazing to say the least and were very refreshing after our Brunswick Heads disappointment.

We made it over to Lennox Head and we are never disappointed.  It is home to me.  We had sorbets and sat at the beach enjoying watching the pelicans and hang-gliders and ended our day with a Lennox Head Pizza which always makes everything better.  I am so glad we decided to get out of Brunswick and go to Lennox, I never regret going to Lennox.

Next week we aren’t going anywhere as we are getting the car serviced… I am already looking forward to the following week’s adventures!
